Distributed by Universal Music Group, Hidden Beach Recordings is the brainchild and “impassioned mission” of founder, Steve McKeever. A veteran music business executive with tenure atop some of America’s largest record labels, McKeever left his corporate-ladder successes to establish his own music company. Eager to revise the approaches of the traditional music business, McKeever established Hidden Beach as a creative “safe-house” –– where artists could organically explore and foster their artistic freedoms away from the pressures of traditional recording deals.

Initially financed by a secret consortium of diverse investors –– (led by none other than NBA superstar and global sports icon, Michael Jordan) –– Hidden Beach rose to prominence in the year 2000, discovering and launching the career of the dynamic, multi-platinum, Grammy nominated artist, Jill Scott. Becoming known as a “musical initiative” more than mere recording label, Hidden Beach became a conveyor belt of important works and artists such as Kindred The Family Soul, Tony Rich, Grammy nominated Angie Fisher, Brenda Russell, even the hugely popular mixtape series, Unwrapped Music Sessions (Vol. 1 thru 8) –– considered the soundtrack of summer.

Hidden Beach was also honored to produce the literal soundtrack of the historic Obama-Biden Presidential Campaign, “Change is Now: Renewing America’s Promise,” featuring artists like: Stevie Wonder, Will-i-Am, Maroon 5, Sheryl Crow, Common, India Arie and James Taylor to name a few. Today, Hidden Beach continues its “social artistic activism,” releasing “Black Lives Matter,” by the renowned R&B/Gospel icon, BeBe Winans, and “Too Many Lost,” by rising R&B star, Gene Noble. A milestone anniversary for Hidden Beach Recordings, 2020 marks 20 years of powerful music that powerfully matters –– as it positions itself for a new decade of musical activism, creative innovation and world-changing artists.
