National Vinyl Record Day

Vinyl Record Day was established August 12, 2002 in recognition of the day Thomas Edison invented the phonograph. It also supports the preservation of album cover art and recordings that culturally influenced fashion, personal lifestyle, and creativity for decades. Since the 1920’s vinyl records have been the only form of music reproduction that is still being used globally. Though we are in the digital age where the instant 99-cent download is the norm for the new listener, the vinyl record still presents a euphoric nostalgia and passion for listeners of all generations.

We, The Guardians of Soul, celebrate Vinyl Record Day and the preservation of its future. Here are just a few of our favorite R&B/Soul LP’s that you may choose to add to your collection. What is your favorite vinyl of all time?
