This weekend Hidden Beach spent its third year at Comic Con and once again it did not disappoint. We saw some old friends, made new friends and were inspired by the spirit, creativity and imagination of all who participated.

The illustrious creator of The Black Panel Michael Davis (Co-Founder of Milestone Media) hosted and moderated the 16th Annual Black Panel at Comic-Con. It was an impressive assembly of African-American’s in the world of comics. Our friend Tatiana El-Khouri (Dark Girls) produced the panel this year and she shared the stage with Orlando Jones (Sleepy Hollow, MAD TV), Ne-Yo (actor, artist, writer, singer), J. August Richards (Angel, Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Kevin Grevioux (I, Frankenstein; Underworld), Cree Summer (Batman Beyond, Rugrats, A Different World), and Erika Alexander (Living Single, Concrete Park). If you ever have the opportunity to attend Comic-Con you should and make sure you check out this event. The participants share invaluable information.

Directly after The BlackPanel  we attended the Milestone @ 21 panel and learned what all in attendance were ecstatic to hear: Milestone will be back! Acclaimed Director Reggie Hudlin (Django Unchained, Boomerang, The Boondocks) and Milestone Founders, Davis and Denys Cowan along with moderator Phil Lamarr discussed the history of African-Americans in comics and announced they have new projects in the works and will be making major announcements in the near future. We can’t wait!
