When Darius Rucker, lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish, wanted to make a neo-soul record, he chose Hidden Beach Recordings to produce and release his debut solo album “Back to Then.” The album that included work from the production team of Jill Scott, and also featured her on the track “Hold On,” debuted in July 2002 at the top spot on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album Chart. “This Is My World,” a single from the album, was also featured in the popular comedy, Shallow Hal.
